Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Zero (Animal Collective Remix).

Via Gorilla vs Bear.

Alright, folks. Here’s that Animal Collective remix I promised you (and no, this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke). It’s a little trippy and AC seems to have totally warped Karen O’s vocals with their wild imagination and a clever use of pitch control, so this remix — above all else — is interesting. Sure, it’s not as upbeat or dyamic as the original, but this remix is something of itself.

You be the judge.

When the indie world falls in love with an artist, I am usually right there with them. Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, Bon Iver. Check, check, check. Animal Collective, and to a lesser degree Panda Bear, is just something I will never understand. Their music does nothing for me so I usually just leave it alone. But to take “Zero,” a decent if not great song from It’s Blitz, and turn it into this is just wrong. How can anyone think this is better, honestly?
